The United World College movement’s transformative education is an opportunity that has touched the lives of many students and their families for decades. For Luanne and Frank Schenkels, it was double the impact for their family when their son Jared attended UWC Robert Bosch College in Germany, and their daughter Marika (Year 44/2019, Canada-NS) attended Pearson College UWC.

As parents of these young changemakers, they could not have asked for a better educational experience than what their children received from UWC. Two years of quality experiential education taught by exceptional faculty in an environment that thrived in so much diversity. They are so proud of the people that Jared and Marika have become.

Giving back to both Pearson and Robert Bosch was an easy choice for Luanne and Frank to make to show their gratitude for all the opportunities their children received since becoming part of the UWC movement. It was important for their gift to benefit both current and future students, so they chose to support student scholarships by contributing to Pearson’s Endowment Fund. It was also important for them to include their children’s input in their family’s philanthropy. While Jared gave towards Robert Bosch College, Marika designated part of her family’s gift towards the much-needed equipment and support for Pearson’s beloved waterfront program.

Our heartfelt thanks to the generosity of the Schenkels Family!
