Fundraising for the
KULE Foundation

Welcome to PCKULE
This page is for people interested in the PCKULE service activity at Pearson College and for those who might be interested in supporting us through a tax-deductible donation.
What is PCKULE?
As the name suggests, PCKULE is a Pearson College UWC CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) activity closely tied to the KULE Foundation—a not-for-profit organization registered in Canada under the British Columbia Societies Act and registered in Nairobi, Kenya, as an NGO. UWC’s mission-aligned KULE Foundation promotes international education outside the classroom and across borders. It does so by partnering with Kenyan and Ugandan rural community groups to raise the quality of life.
What do Pearson College students do in the PCKULE activity?
Fundraising:
Students in the PCKULE activity create and run fundraising projects to support KULE Foundation development projects in rural Kenya (and now Uganda). Fundraising projects include making and selling handmade tote bags, gift cards, jewellery, and our own international cookbook! This year, we plan to hold our very first Pearson College Duck Race, in which students can sponsor—you guessed it—a floating wooden duck!
All money raised from these initiatives goes directly to KULE Foundation projects, which include the following: building a primary school in a remote part of a village, building and supplying a local library, supporting an orphanage KULE helped to rehabilitate, constructing community latrines, offering feminine hygiene education sessions, supplying crucial foodstuffs to orphanages, and more. For more information, go to the KULE Foundation International Website.
Service Work in Kenya and Uganda:
Through this CAS activity, students have travelled to Africa for three weeks every summer for over twenty years to work directly with the KULE Foundation on the projects mentioned above. We plan to do so again this year!
How You Can Help
We need your help to fund bursaries to enable more students to participate in this project. As you can imagine, the costs of flights, accommodations, meals, vaccinations, and other fees add up. After adding up, many Pearson students simply cannot afford to go. A donation from you would make this experience accessible to all Pearson College students.
By making a donation below, you can join the College and its employees in helping PCKULE students travel to Africa with the KULE Foundation International for a once-in-a-lifetime transformational experience for them and the communities they serve. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation by following the instructions below.
Thank You!
