The Pearson College UWC Board of Directors is seeking to fill two expected vacancies on the Board during 2026. We are also recruiting Community Members willing to serve on our Board Committees. On behalf of the Board, I encourage you to consider nominating a talented individual for these positions.
Nominations of volunteers to join our Board for an initial three-year term, and for Community Members, will be accepted in confidence by the Governance Committee of the Board until April 03, 2026. New Board Members will be formally elected at the next Pearson College Annual General Meeting of Members, expected to occur in November/December 2026.
We are a skills-based volunteer Board focused on strategic stewardship of Pearson College. Our Board Members are expected to serve on at least one of our Committees which meet several times per year: (i) Finance, Audit and Risk; (ii) HR, Education and Wellness; (iii) Governance; and (iv) Investment/Endowment. Each of these Committees also welcomes experienced, volunteer Community Members who contribute their expertise as non-Board Members.
We are seeking volunteers with prior board experience and demonstrated skill competencies in one or more of the following areas:
- Philanthropy / fundraising
- Asset management
- Finance, audit and risk
- Indigenous reconciliation
- Education administration
- Labour relations
- Social profit governance
We believe where a candidate lives should not stand in the way of this opportunity. We welcome nominations from any part of the world, and we are keen to attract candidates with diverse perspectives. Most Board and Committee meetings are conducted virtually, with two in-person Board meetings per year, including at least one on the Pearson College campus. Nominated persons may include Pearson College alumni and others who support global education through the College and the UWC movement. We continue to welcome nominations of Board candidates with Indigenous perspectives.
