The Pearson College UWC Outrigger Club is gearing up to participate in the WetDashe community fundraiser, where a friendly competition canoe race Sunday, November 17 will be held on the beautiful waters of the Gorge, located on Songhees and Esquimalt territory in Victoria.  

Join us in helping our team make waves both on and off the water!  

Not all student activity fees are fully covered. When our students have the chance to live out UWC values by giving back and serving the community, we want to ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in their way.  This is where your support makes a difference.

How can I help?

Cover Entry Fees: Each Pearson student paddler needs to raise $45 to participate, with a base goal of $1,260 to cover all 28 of the student team members’ fees.  

Get a Head Start: For every $10 donated (beyond the total entry fees) Pearson’s team will receive a 1-second advantage in the race! Help us reach our overall fundraising goal of $2,000 and give our team a head start while supporting a great cause.

What’s WetDashe?  

A community-driven canoe race where teams paddle in a 12-person canoe, completing 4 laps of 3 kilometers each.  

Pearson College teams race with both students and staff, bringing big UWC energy to the event.  

Why Donate? Your contribution not only supports Pearson students participating in this exciting event but also helps the BC Cancer Foundation fund important research and initiatives. By donating, you become part of a ripple effect that starts with sport and spreads through community and social impact.
