My name is Michelle, and I am reaching out to you today to share an exciting initiative that I am passionate about: supporting students at Pearson College UWC to attend the local Model UN conference. As a mathematics teacher and student adviser at this non-profit school, I strongly believe that providing modern educational tools is essential to enhance the learning experience and empower my students for their future.

Pearson College UWC is a unique institution where approximately 75% of the students receive scholarships. The school’s primary source of funding is through donations, which allows us to offer life-changing opportunities to young minds from all over the world. At Pearson, like every school, not all new extra-curricular activities can be covered within the annual budget. That’s why we are inviting friends and supporters to help us make it possible for Pearson MUN students to attend a regional conference in Vancouver this year.

The Model United Nations (MUN) conference in Vancouver presents a remarkable chance for our students to engage in real-world diplomacy and international affairs. By participating in MUN, they can develop critical thinking skills, public speaking abilities, and gain a deeper understanding of global issues. Attending this conference will not only enrich their educational experience but also enable them to form lasting connections with other students from diverse backgrounds.

However, the cost of transportation, accommodation, and conference registration fees poses a significant challenge for our students, especially those who are already financially burdened. Therefore, we are launching a campaign to raise funds to provide the necessary support for these talented individuals to attend the conference. Our goal is to secure $5,000 to cover the expenses associated with sending a group of students to the Model UN conference in Vancouver.

Your contribution to this initiative would make a tremendous impact on the lives of these bright students. It would enable them to gain invaluable experiences, broaden their horizons, and unlock their potential as future leaders and global citizens.
