Campaign Cabinet

Anne McLellan | Co-Chair

The Hon. A. Anne McLellan P.C., O.C., A.O.E. is the former Chair of our Pearson College Board of Directors. She has had a distinguished career in public service as a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. Today, she lives in Edmonton, Alberta and is a Senior Advisor with Bennett Jones, LLP.

Paul Lumsden | Co-Chair

Paul Lumsden is a Year 7 Alumnus who represented Jamaica at the College. He currently lives in the Cayman Islands. He retired as a partner of the law firm, Maples and Calder in 2019 after a career of 28 years as a lawyer.

Young Cho

Dr. Young Cho is a Year 16 alumnus who represented Canada and the province of Ontario at the College.  He lives in Spring, Texas (just north of Houston), and works in private practice as a plastic surgeon.

Sandra Cunningham

Sandra Cunningham is a Yr 3 alumna, founder of Strada Films and an accomplished filmmaker. Her film credits include the Oscar-nominated The Sweet Hereafter, The Moth Diaries, The Statement, Fugitive Pieces, and Where the Truth Lies. She was Supervising Producer for CBC comedy series Kim’s Convenience as well as a new CBC comedy series Strays, currently airing on CBC. Sandra divides her time between Toronto and Sandy Cove Nova Scotia.

Sarah Dingle

Sarah Dingle is a Year 4 alumna, originally from Montreal and living now in Uruguay and Argentina. Among her many roles, she is Managing Director of the Ceibos Group, which focuses on production, commercialization and processing of agricultural products.

Carol Huddart

Carol Huddart and her late husband Larry Huddart were houseparents during the first few years of the College. Carol is a retired Justice of the Court of Appeals, the highest court of British Columbia. She splits her time between Victoria and Ottawa.

Yazann Romahi

Dr. Yazann Romahi is a Year 19 alumnus who represented Jordan at the College. Based in London and Oxford, UK, Yaz is a member of the Pearson College Board of Directors, and a Managing Director for JP Morgan Asset Management, specializing in quantitative beta strategies.

Matteo Stefanel

Matteo Stefanel is a Year 19 alumnus who represented Italy at the College. Matteo has had a successful 23-year career in private equity and investment banking. Matteo is currently Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Apis Partners LLP, which manages private equity funds focused primarily on investing in financial services companies in Africa and Asia.

Mary Thomson

Mary Thomson is a Toronto-based lawyer specializing in dispute resolution, with longstanding commitment to Hahn-based pedagogy and youth development. She was the Chair of Outward Bound International between 2011 and 2017, and from the mid-1990s to mid-2000s she served as a member and, subsequently, as Chair of the UWC Selection Committee for Ontario. Mary also sits on the Ontario Board of the Nature Conservancy of Canada, serves as a steward for the Georgian Bay Land Trust and is a member of the Indigenous Relations Committee of a local community association.

Kevin Wong

Kevin Wong is a Year 38 Alumnus who represented Canada (Ontario) at the College. Based in New York, Kevin currently works at a technology investment firm. Previously, he worked for Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a consultant at McKinsey & Company and a freelance journalist.

Luanne Schenkels

Luanne Schenkels (Matchett) became a supporter of UWC when her son, Jared (RBC 00), attended UWC Robert Bosch and daughter, Marika (YR 44) attended Pearson College UWC. As a strong advocate of post-secondary education and life-long learning, she feels that UWC fosters great minds and souls that grow into incredible humans capable of positive change in their local communities and beyond. Newly retired from public health, Luanne is happy to support the campaign to provide a parent perspective.
