Dear Year 44, Welcome to Pearson College UWC.

As I walk across the quiet campus, I look forward to seeing students meeting on East House Lawn and eating together in the Dining Hall. You are joining the College at an exciting time. You are part of a full student cohort of 100 new scholars that we are welcoming to Pearson College UWC. We are also celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Lester B. Pearson being awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for his role in helping to create the first United Nations peacekeeping force.

Pearson’s legacy on campus goes far beyond his name. His commitment to peace and global understanding are at the core of life on campus and the UWC Mission – from your room to your classes. We are looking forward to an exciting array of programming related to this special anniversary and will look together at how Pearson’s legacy can help us understand our world today.

I remember being in your shoes seventeen years ago, impatiently waiting for the school year to begin to come to this place called Pearson College. While so much about the College is the same today as it was then for me, your experience will be your very own – special, unique, and driven by your interests and passions.

We are here to help you navigate this transition and to support you during your time at the College. Don’t hesitate to reach out with your questions and we look forward to meeting you in person soon.
