Class Year Scholarships at Pearson College UWC
Today our world faces new, complex global challenges. With daily news of climate change, refugees, ethnic and religious radicalization, increasing global income inequality, and regions of decades old conflict, the skills necessary for effective leadership as global citizen-leaders are changing rapidly.
More than 4,200 students like yourself have graduated from Pearson, and reflect UWC values through their cultures, faiths and professions around the world. Many alum like you continue to offer their time, talent and treasure to the College and to the UWC movement – and one of the ways you can contribute to all of these is through building your class year scholarship.
Your Class can come together to raise funds to support one or more students for their two full years at Pearson – currently this is $65,000 CAD per year for a full scholarship.
With the help of so many supportive alumni, Pearson maintains the most generous scholarship policy in Canada. Many of our students continue to come from conflict regions, have had a refugee experience, or come from challenging economic situations. Your scholarship support ensures the continuation of the deliberate diversity and opportunity that you appreciated and enjoyed as a student.
Why does fundraising matter?
When the College was founded, the Government of Canada and the provincial governments provided generous annual funding for scholarships to both Canadians and international students. This public funding has almost entirely disappeared.
Who should be involved?
As many alumni as possible. There is a place at the table for all – your full class participation matters!
