What a warm (literally!) and wonderful reunion for 90+ Pearson College UWC alumni from PC Years 32, 33, 34 and 35 this summer!

The return of these still-youthful adults, together with partners and families, enlivened the entire campus during a West Coast heatwave in the first week of August. For most of the returnees, this was the first time they returned to the shores of Pedder Bay in a decade.

The group’s excellent Reunion Planning Committee worked closely with the College’s Alumni Relations team to schedule events ranging from waterfront fun to early-morning yoga sessions in the Spiritual Centre to thoughtful discussions about the College and its future during Village Gatherings. The always-lively evening gala and auctions generated goodwill and helped raise funds for future Pearson scholars.

The presence of guests like Pearson Board of Directors Chairperson Anne McLellan, President and Head of College Désirée McGraw, former Head David Hawley and his spouse Leisa Weld and long-time College supporter and Host Family Program volunteer Chris Pratt made the gala extra-special for alumni.

As Désirée wrote in a welcome letter to alumni, “a reunion is a testament to the strong bonds formed here at the College – your life-long commitment to living the UWC values is, quite simply, inspiring.”
