International Baccalaureate

The Diploma Program for students ages 16 to 19 is a demanding two-year curriculum leading to final examinations and a qualification welcomed by leading universities around the world. More information about the IB can be found at www.ibo.org.

One World

Each year Pearson College students share the music and dance of their homelands in concert at One World. College faculty, staff and students have produced, performed in and run One World for over 20 years. View a clip of One World 2011 below.

Lester B. Pearson

The College is named for the late Canadian Prime Minister Lester Bowles "Mike" Pearson, winner of the 1957 Nobel Peace Prize, and the driving force behind the founding of the College.

Each summer the Pearson Seminar on Youth Leadership welcomes up to 100 students (ages 15-18) from around the world for a three-week leadership program at Pearson College.

Race Rocks

The Race Rocks Historical Site and Marine Ecological Reserve is managed by Pearson College. It is located off the southern tip of Vancouver Island about 16 km southwest of Victoria.



UWC (originally an acronym for United World Colleges, but now UWC) is a network of 13 schools, colleges and programs across five continents that deliver a challenging and transformative educational experience to a diverse cross-section of students, inspiring them to create a more peaceful and sustainable future. UWC is headquartered in London, England.

Village Meetings

About every three weeks all members of the Pearson College community gather to discuss ideas and issues relevant to living together on campus.
