Location
Pearson College is located on the west coast of Canada at the southern-most tip of Vancouver Island, 29 km west of the city of Victoria. Set on sheltered Pedder Bay on the wooded shores of the Pacific Ocean, the campus provides a stunning environment for students to live in.
This isolated and beautiful campus allows the students to focus on building strong bonds among each other, sharing experiences in all facets of their life here. The connections with the outdoors provide both a challenge to experience together as well as discovering the greater sense of well-being from spending time outdoors. As such it is an ideal environment for the purpose, aims and philosophy of the College.
The College’s cedar buildings are clustered on 75 acres of an old growth rainforest, positioned for minimal impact amidst endangered Garry Oak meadows and coastal Douglas fir ecosystems. The landscape is home to deer, eagles, song birds, sea otters, seals, water fowl and other wildlife, including the occasional visiting whale. The climate is among the warmest in Canada.
Walking, hiking and biking trails lead to Victoria and the surrounding area, including our neighbours in the small town of Metchosin. Victoria is a 45 minute drive, with airport and ferries to Vancouver and Seattle nearby. Museums, shops, cafés and parks can be found in Victoria, British Columbia’s historic capital city and vibrant cultural centre.
Visitors are welcome to walk through the campus and explore the shores of Pedder Bay. Directions are available from Victoria or from the airport and ferries.
